What's your opinion on this? On profiles, Weinig techs say when grinding them at 27 - 30 degrees then finish grind then at 25- 26 degrees, even with a CBN wheel. Now I've tried both ways - grinding the way Weinig said and grinding at 27 degrees and not finish grind them at 25 degrees - and I see no difference in the finish cut off the moulders.
Jan 05, 2015 · I have found CBN to require very high pressure grinding carbide. Sounds like a wheel made out of carbide bits in a bond, Very unlike the swish of diamonds with coolant. Tried to use CBN wheel on Star CNC with oil coolant on carbide, the pressure dial went way up to slowly grind stock but leaving a ragged edge not smooth enough for the job.

I use a grinding wheel when heavy material removal is needed. I use a flap disc for less material removal. I have several different grits but 60 and 80 is my favorite. I use the flap discs for rust/paint/ dirt removal and for deburring and rounding edges. I have used many brands, but I buy Walter for grinding wheels and flap discs from my LWS.

Jan 10, 2019 · The wheels are not perfectly round and it would be so nice to have them precisely round. I have never used a truing tool so I watched a few videos. Seems simple. This evening when I tried gently pressing that tool to the spinning grinding wheel it seemed as if no material came off the wheel and all the diamonds are now flattened, no longer pointy.

AO is really common, just don't try to grind aluminum with it. Wood-Mizer offers comparable CBN wheels in 5" and 8" sizes and their blade profiles, but for a little more money.

Do you do the larger chains in ple passes, has anyone found or tried mounting a thicker (3/16") wheel? - Several people have said that they 'work with' the flex in the unit to finely position the grinding head relative to the cutter.
